The conference venue was the Leeds City Museum, completed in 1865 as the Mechanic Institute’s building, and designed by Cuthbert Brodrick, the architect responsible for many of central Leed’s iconic buildings such as the Town Hall and Corn Exchange. The museum is located on Millennium Square in central Leeds, within 10 minutes walk of the railway station and other transport links, including multi-storey car parks.

The conference dinner was held at the Leeds Marriott Hotel on the evening of the 4 January.
Workshops on Saturday 6 January were held at the School of Earth & Environment at the University of Leeds, a further 10 minutes uphill from the conference venue.
